About Me

Laura Chowns was born in Ottawa, Canada, and is the youngest and only girl in a family of three children. A love of reading runs in her family, and like many of her relatives, Laura can devour a good book in a day or two if time permits. Reading is a hobby, but it's also a love affair, and a good book is a good companion when the days are long and lonesome. Some of her favourite books include The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Women of the Other World, Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children, The Circle Trilogy, The Key Trilogy, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Notebook, and there are so many more.

Laura Chowns began writing when she was in High School. Most of her stories were fanfiction based on her favourite bands, books and TV shows at the time while some were original fiction. Her favourite genres to write and read are Adult and Young Adult Fantasy, Romance, and that slice of life genre (google it, she had too as well, haha!).

Laura currently lives in North Bay, Canada. She is happily married with two children (a boy and a girl) and two Siamese mix cats (Boo and Minnie). While writing is her passion and dream, Laura works as an RPN on the Dementia Unit, and enjoys making a difference in the lives of those she cares for.
