Multiple WIPs
“Of writing many books there is no end.”
- Elizabeth Barrett Browning
The writing process continues to be a struggle when working a full time job and parenting two wrangy children (I love them dearly!) but this is a quick update to let anyone who cares to know, know, that I am still writing and hope to bring you all some new books in the new year.
As depicted in the image, there are 4 WIP books on the go right now. Three of these books are sequels to already published books by me. I'm going to give y'all a little teaser about them, just so you know what might be coming your way in the future (sooner, rather than later, I hope!)
Snapdragons - As the flowery title might hint to those who have read my book, Primrose, Snapdragons is the sequel starring new characters; Leander Haven of the Belhaven founding family, and Levi Martell, a pennyless soldier with nothing to his name but a love of flowers. Snapdragons is darker than Primrose, but there will be recurring characters from the first book popping up, hopefully some fan favourites. I'm quite excited about this sequel (I never thought there would be a sequel to Primrose) even if Leander is being especially tricky to write - he's so IMPATIENT with me, yet the world's most patient person with Levi and their story is quite sweet.
Through Fated Eyes - I stood in the medication room at work one day and asked myself this very important question: "What happens to Lucien after the prophecy is fulfilled?" - as we know, at the end of Through the Moon Door, Lucien comes face to face with his nephew; Sebastien. Through Fated Eyes is the story of Lucien and Sebastien and the challenges they face together while building their new life in Rosemere.
Through the Silent Storm - Following the same theme as the books that came before it, Through the Silent Storm follows Sebastien after the events of Through Fated Eyes - I won't give away too many details but I'll leave you with this quote which makes me laugh every single time I read/write it: "Remy, come quick. There's a man sleeping in the tool shed!"
In the Haze of Smoke - Completely deviating from the world of Primrose and Through the Moon Door, In the Haze of Smoke is much more magical and follows the story of Samir, Cole and Gabriella - fairies who are caught between right and wrong, their heart's desires and their duty to their kingdom.
So, there's a little something for everyone to get excited about in the new year, let's all cross out fingers and hope the Muses stay with me! Until there, keep an eye on Facebook and Instagram for little updates!
